Inspired by the world-renowned visual symphony known as Trinidad Carnival, this design fuses the infectious joy with the genius artistry of indigenous mas costume design. The patterned print alludes to the symmetrical composition of kaleidoscope, one of the first analog technologies I encountered as a child that reminded me of the bold prints on mas costumes. Having strong reverence for the festival of my ancestors and the sacred rhythms that they imbued into the multiplicity of events and elements we partake in today, I delight in creating statement pieces that honour this nationwide tradition.
